A chest can be placed on the ground by pressing the use item button. Press the use item button on a chest to open it. A single chest has 27 squares of space, in each space you can put in a total of 64 items. (if the type of item has a 64 stack count)

You can place items in your inventory into the chest.
If a chest is destroyed when holding items, the items will spill out onto the floor. There are naturally occurring chests in Minecraft like the chests inside DUNGEONS.

Placing a chest next to another chest will create a large chest.

A large chest has 54 squares of space. A chest cannot be opened with a block directly above it. (because the chest needs space to be opened)
