NETHER: What it is, how to go to it.

The nether is another world, different from the normal world, and is supposed to look like... well... er... take a look.

 Blocks: In the nether, there are these blocks. Netherrack, lava, brown and red mushrooms, glowstone, soulsand, gravel, nether bricks, nether fences, nether stairs, nether warts, blaze spawners.

nether warts. Grown to make potions.

netherrack. makes most of the terrain in the nether. will burn forever.

soul sand. you can grow nether warts on this. makes you move slower when you walk on it.

blaze spawner. spawns blazes.

glowstone. used as decoration.

MOBS: In the nether, there are pig zombies, ghasts, blazes, and magma cubes.

blazes: will attack you when you are in its range. Shoots fireballs.

ghast. A long ranged flying mob. Shoots exploding fireballs.

magma cubes. A large magma cube will split into more cubes when killed, and will split again...

zombie pigmen. will attack you if provoked. Other pigmen will start fighting you if it sees one of its fellow pigmen being attacked.

GETTING TO THE NETHER: To get to the nether, you must make a nether portal. Nether portals are made of obsidian. The portal must look like this:

to start portal, use a flint and steel to catch fire on the portal. (shown above)

To go to the nether, stand in the purple light that the portal is causing. You should be teleported to the nether. To go back, go through the portal that will be spawned in the nether.

NETHER FORTRESSES: These massive structures naturally spawn in the nether. Here is a picture of one:

they are made of nether brick, nether stairs, and nether fences. They are know for their blaze spawners (for when you kill a blaze, you get blaze rods. Blaze rods are required for beating the game.) and nether wart farms (nether warts are used for making potions.

TIME AND SLEEPING: There is no day and night cycle in the nether. If you use a clock, it will spin around frantically, not knowing where to go. If you try to go to bed, the BED WILL EXPLODE!

BEDROCK: Bedrock is found in the nether by traveling upwards, mining everything in your way. You will eventually hit bedrock.
