MINECRAFT BASICS FOR BEGINNERS PART 2!

Last time, we finally got to make a crafting table. Now, it's time to learn about some tools. There are 5 different types of tools. Swords, hoes, pickaxes, axes, and shovels.

from left to right: axe, shovel, pickaxe, sword, hoe
These all do different jobs. An axe cuts wood quickly, a shovel digs dirt, gravel, and sand quickly, a pickaxe digs stone quickly, a sword is an effective weapon, and a hoe will create fertile farmland.
Each of these tools has a certain crafting recipe. We need to make them in a crafting table (shown in part 1). First, to make one of the tools, we need to make some sticks. This is how you make a stick. To make some sticks, aim your crosshairs (the little + in the middle of your screen) and press the use item button. The crafting table will have a 3x3 table where you can make items. Place your wood planks (made from wood logs by just placing a log into a crafting square) like the picture below.

you can get wood planks (blocks on left) by putting a wood log into a crafting square.

Once we have some sticks, we can then make some tools.

How to craft all the tools:

crafting a sword, a hoe, and a shovel
crafting an axe, and a pickaxe.
Now, you may have noticed that all of these tools are made of stone. There can be 5 types of material a tool can be made of.
The materials are wood, stone, iron, gold, and diamond. Each tool will be worn out with every hit/use.

left to right: wood, cobblestone, gold, iron, diamond
You can make different material tools by putting one of the above materials in an order like this:

this is how to craft a diamond pick. It is like crafting a stone pickaxe but instead of cobblestone, you use diamonds.
Each material of tool has a different durability, gold tools last the shortest, then wood, stone, iron, then the strong diamond. When a tool gets worn, the picture will look like this in your inventory:

a semi- worn shovel

You can also fix tools in your inventory crafting by putting the same material tool in the crafting squares.  (above)
