ALL TYPES OF SPIDERS!

 Spiders are hostile mobs that spawn in either a dark place, or when it is night time. Meaning, they will kill you. Spiders will also start attacking skeletons if a skeleton accidentally shoots them, and will attack a tamed wolf if the wolf attacks the spider first.  They will also not burn in the sunlight, unlike zombies and skeletons. There are two variants of spiders, a regular spider, and a cave spider.

The differences are normal spiders are larger, black, and non-poisonous.  However, a cave spider is smaller, blue and poisonous. In game modes medium-hard cave spiders will poison you, but in peaceful-easy they will be non-poisonous.
Regular spiders are found just about everywhere, but cave spiders are only found in abandoned mine shafts.

ATTACK AND HEALTH: Spiders will not attack you if it is day, but they will if you hit them. Here are the attack strengths and health for both spiders.

DEFENSE MEASURES:
It is quite easy to kill a regular spider, just attack it and block with your sword before it attacks you. Cave spiders are quite tricky, but I would suggest attacking, running away, and lunge forward to attack until it is dead. Try not to get poisoned in the process. Running to shelter is also a good idea, if you're really too weak of afraid to fight them.

CLIMBING: Both spiders are able to climb walls, which makes them much more dangerous.

 But doing something like this will prevent them from climbing all the way up.

But regular spiders cannot fit through doorways 1 block wide.

SPIDER JOCKEYS: For every spider spawned, there is a 1/100 chance of a skeleton rider being spawned riding the spider. It now has the agility and climbing skills of a spider, and the range of a skeleton. If the spider is killed, the skeleton will stand up and continue shooting you. If the skeleton dies, the spider will resume killing you.

DROPS: a spider will drop 0-2 string when killed (used for wool, bows, and fishing poles), and 0-1 spider eyes, which can be used for brewing.
