tamed wolf |
neutral wolf |
hostile wolf |
If you hit a neutral wolf, it will turn into a hostile wolf and attack you. Other neutral wolves near the wolf you hit will also turn hostile.
A "Wild" wolf is either a neutral or hostile one |
TAMING A WOLF: If you find some neutral wolves, you can tame them. You will need some bones, which are dropped by skeletons, a hostile mob. When you go to a wolf, you can press "use item" while holding a bone onto the wolf. It may take a few bones to be tamed. When you do tame it, it will have hearts around it and will have a default red collar.
ATTACKING: When a monster attacks you, a wolf will instantly begin attacking your enemy. This also happens if you attack any other mob.
SITTING: When a wolf is standing, you can press the use item button on the wolf to make it sit down. Now, the wolf will stay until it is allowed to stand.
TELEPORTING: If you are too far away from your wolf, and your wolf is standing up, it will automatically teleport to you.
FEEDING: When a wolf has low health, you can either feed it a raw porkchop or a rotten flesh. Both will heal 1 heart for the wolf. You can see how much health the dog has by its tail.
Tail low to the ground= low health
Tail high up= high health.
NAVIGATING: A tamed wolf will follow you, but can be clumsy. It can fall down large pits, and will not avoid fire or lava well.
DYING COLLARS: You can dye a dog's collar by pressing use item button while holding a dye on a dog.
BREEDING: Once you tame at least two wolves, you can breed them. When they are standing, give them both a rotten flesh/porkchop. They will then have a baby wolf!
