Glass is a transparent block in Minecraft that looks like this:

Glass blocks can be made by cooking a block of sand in a furnace.

making glass in a furnace. Sand must go on top, and coal/burning materials must go on the bottem

Once you have made the glass, you can place the glass anywhere you want by pressing the use item button on where you want the glass to go.

If you try to mine glass, it will shatter easily but you will not get the glass block back, so be careful to place the glass exactly where you want it.

GLASS PANES: Glass panes looks like regular glass, except it is much thinner.

You cannot collect glass panes by mining it, either.
